Denmark Masters this week!
Running into the next event like.
The Luxembourg International has to be one of the most challenging events I have faced recently due to a large number of factors. I flew in from Jamaica, boarded three different flights that I then had to get off of due to mechanical or crew issues, was delayed by more than a day, and missed my scheduled practice. I got less than half an hour on the main courts before my match. Despite my best efforts to plan for a day and a half to practice and recover from travel, and trying to set myself up to play well things didn’t go as planned. I did my best to shake the travel out of my legs, and compete, but I have never gotten on court feeling so sluggish and exhausted. I had 50 hours of travel, and no sleep weighing my legs down and it showed. I had a very winnable match against Spain in singles, but couldn’t pull it off. Lots to learn, and nothing to it but pushing forward for the next one!
Chasing big dreams. I couldn’t do it without the support of all my sponsors and all the individuals who make it happen!
Win some lose some. But always excited to be on the court! Shoutout to all the sponsors that keep me on the court and all the people that keep me working hard and improving!
Little physical. Little control. Let’s go.
Happy with a win here in Iceland. Time to rest up and prep for my match tomorrow!
Time to get a little technical work done on court.
The new year has brought a lot of change and I am excited for what the future has in store. While I am in Manitoba I will be coaching with Beyond the Perimeter Badminton clubs @beyondtheperimeterbadminton from Monday to Thursday evenings in different venues around Manitoba. I will also be coaching and training at the Winnipeg Winter Club @wwc_badminton . Hit me up in any of those places for lessons, training, or a cup of coffee!
2023 has begun and there is a lot of great things to keep working towards! Next tournament is the Iceland International in a few weeks.
Happy to have won the men’s singles and mens doubles with @kyi_nichols at the Yonex Herb Richard Open hosted at @prairiebadminton
